Bug Description

simple-scan fails and freezes my HP PSC 1315 (1310 family) after scanning 2 pages in a row. I tried with sane and no errors occured.

Just to clarify: not only simple-scan hangs, but the whole machine hangs and needs to be fore-rebooted? And with xsane (I assume you mean *x*sane) you can scan without problems?

Scanner hanged up alone (PC keeps running fine) and it had to be yanked from the power outlet each time (on/off button doesn't work in those six times).

And yes, it was xsane. :)

does your scanner have an automatic document feeder (adf)? if so, do you use it or do you scan one page at a time?

There's no ADF. It's an All-In-One device. Specs:

Also I used an option for single page at simple-scan. Probably this option has been ignored (therefore, it fails anyway).

You clicked "Scan Single Page" and it scanned two pages in a row?

No, I clicked once per page. This way:

1st page: one click, scanned did scan the page;
2nd page: one click, scanner failed and hanged up. Needed to cut off the scanner power (unplug it from outlet) to do it again (powering off was impossible due to some problem between simple-scan and HP PSC1315, which has no ADF).

With xsane it worked fine, six pages (one by one) with no problem.

In both frontends (simple-scan and xsane) I picked the "single page" option.

Sorry if my description wasn't clear enough.

Hi,

Simple scan also crashes on me. Have not counted how many successful scans I can complete but about 3 sounds right (single page scans, save to jpg).

Hi Elaztic,

I'm not with this device at this moment, then I can't do any test.

Thank you.
