Bug Description

Simple-scan 3.20.0. KDEneon user edition w/ Kubuntu 16.04 backports enabled. HP 8600 Pro w/duplexer. All docs referenced scanned using ADF and multi-page.

I set a scan for legal size, scanned my document, re-set the pref. to letter size.

Then, simple-scan would scan all docs at legal size regardless of pref set paper size - it added a black box below the end of the scan. Only settings I could find in my home were under ~/.cache/simple-scan. I removed the folder and restarted simple-scan and the preview window at startup showed a letter size.

Then I scanned 13 letter size pages from feeder at 300DPI. Some of the pages framed letter size, some legal size, apparently random. I re-scanned the same set at 150DPI and all scanned letter size. I scanned the same set for a third time and again - random pages were framed at legal size.

Please attach ~/.cache/simple-scan/simple-scan.log after doing this (or run simple-scan -d from the command line).

Thanks for responding - sorry it took so long to get back to you. Scanned the log here and found:

DEBUG: page.vala:269: Extending image from 3299 lines to 4566 lines

eight times. This time 8 pages were scanned legal and 5 letter. Which pages and the number of them that get scanned long are random each time.

I don't know it it's related, but it also always shows a legal sized scan window at start-up even though I have letter set in prefs. It changes to letter size when the scan begins but then randomly jumps to legal size at the end of some of the pages.
