simple scan crashes after a stop and then scan

To repeat this crash.

1) open simple-scan
2) begin scan by clicking on the Scan button
3) stop scan by clicking on the Stop button (it was a small image, no need to scan the whole page)
4) save scan to disk
5) start new page by clicking on the Start New Document button
6) begin scan by clicking on the Scan button

simple-scan crashes with this output:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Tried running Gnome3.22 and Elightenment-21 under Debian 8 and Arch. Using wayland and xorg.
