Bug Description

When I enable subscriptions after setting up mailhost in ZMI, I get an error in SMI when editing content, and a CRITICAL error in the buildout var/log/error.log.

2012-03-04 11:39:55,207 CRITICAL [txn.139684772828928] A storage error occurred during the second phase of the two-phase commit. Resources may be in an inconsistent state.

If I stop subscribing, I can edit again.

I think that the system should say that an email was unable to be sent, please check mailhost etc, but should not fail completely like this.

This is actually a bug in Zope, that if you send an email to an invalid address, the transaction fails. There isn't a lot we can do for it at the moment, so we have to find a bypass.

This bug comes from the default MailHost provided by Zope 2. It is broken on multiple aspect, and nothing can be done in Silva to fix it. Using MaildropHost will prevent this bug (and many others).

Changed in silva:
milestone: 3.0.2 → 3.1.0
