When the Advanced Screen Selection feature, you cannot validate your selection (with the return key).
There is no problem with the Simple Selection Tool (since the screen capture is not waiting for any key to be pressed.

This was fixed in Shutter 0.87.1. You might want to update to a higher version. I will try to contact Fedora's maintainer and ask him to update the package.

This is how the update usually works:

1) Get the latest version: http://shutter-project.org/wp-content/uploads/releases/tars/
2) Go to the download directory and open a terminal
3) tar xfvz shutter-0.87.2.tar.gz
4) cd shutter-0.87.2/
5) bin/shutter

You will probably see an error, because of missing dependencies. Unfortunately the package perl-Gtk2-Unique is not available for fedora yet.
If you have packaging knowledge or know how to install CPAN distributions here you are:
http://search.cpan.org/~potyl/Gtk2-Unique-0.05/lib/Gtk2/Unique.pm

Please feel free to ask if you need any further help.

I download the latest tarball but doesn't works, and, gnome-screenshot don't take the "print-screen" shortcut any more, instead, an error message related with shutter is showed.

¿how to restore gnome-screenshot functionality again? I removed shutter but I can't take screenshots any more because the shortcut is reserved to shutter!

Open gconf-editor and change the following keys:

/apps/metacity/keybinding_commands/command_screenshot => gnome-screenshot /apps/metacity/keybinding_commands/command_window_screenshot => gnome-screenshot -w

Sorry for any inconveniences.

There are updated packages for F14 and F15:

Did you try those as well? I will download the latest version of Fedora to see if things are broken.
