Bug Description

I want to use Shutter on non-Linux system.
On such system, third party software should be installed under /usr/local, /opt or /usr/pkg.
I want Makefile or other support script for easy install.
Please include it.

We don't currently support them, so you'd have to do that yourself if you
want to use it there...

Shutter is written in Perl (needs no compilation), so installing it under a arbitrary directory should be straightforward (it is just copying files).
The only thing you need to take care of is providing the dependencies yourself. Here is a list that might be useful (package names differ from CPAN modules, of course):

Anyway, we should really provide a CPAN compliant source tarball (makefile et cetera), because it also helps us (and third-party maintainers) to build packages for different distributions.
