Bug Description

Updated to Shutter 0.80 on Ubuntu 8.04

1) Click the session tab and select a screenshot.
2) From context menu select "Execute a plugin"
3) Select barrel distortion plugin and click execute

You get an error message and if you try to get more information
the application has to be killed.

Yeah, that's right.

It doesn't work with hardy because hardy's imagemagick version (6.3.7) is not up-to-date. Currently I am not sure how to get this working with older versions because the distortion type '-distort Barrel' was introduced with imagemagick v6.4.2-4:
http://www.imagemagick.org/Usage/distorts/#barrel

But what does 'if you try to get more information the application has to be killed' mean? I have no problem toggling the "Show more details"-button, see my attachment.
Could you please describe what exactly happens? Does Shutter freeze or crash?

Sorry I was somewhat imprecise, I have retested the case.
First no crash whatsoever!
In fact what happened is the following: after the display of the
additional information
I clicked accidentally the cancel button of the plugin interface of the
one in the message
window (the two windows get halfway overlayed) . This makes disappear
the message window
but it is still open and you are left with the plugin window displaying
the running throbber.
This very confusing behaviour got me to believe it was fallen in an
endless loop ...

I have checked the version of ImageMagick installed on my box , it is
6.3.7 .
I suggest to disable the plugin if the prerequistes are not fullfilled.

Of the other plugins I have tested only the the two jigsaw plugins did
not deliver the desired effect
but this seems going to be fixed in a next release.

Thanks for the attention.

I've created a new bug report for this: #398913

I am closing this one now (WON'T FIX), because we can't really do
anything here if the prerequistes are not fullfilled.

That's correct. It will be fixed in the next release.
