Shutter does not detect that it is already running allowing this way the opening of multiple sessions.

Someone did make perl bindings for it, I can dig up the link for you.

You've already pasted the link here (see your first comment). libgtk2-unique-perl is included in ubuntu since karmic. I'll prepare some packages for hardy, intrepid and jaunty.

This issue is the only thing that I find as a big problem with Shutter because I like to use terminal commands and wanted to do some with shutter until I found out that everytime it would create a new instance...so I am excited to see this has been corrected. As soon as the new release is out I am going to release a tutorial regarding using Shutter to remotely monitor your computer. :)
