Bug Description

Shutter v0.70.2 (rev.402)
Ubuntu 9.04

I have followed the steps that you put here (http://shutter-project.org/faq-help/set-shutter-as-the-default-screenshot-tool/) but it doesn't work in my Ubuntu Jaunty.

What window manager are you using? Compiz?

Please check your advanced compiz settings. It should look like this (Backend=GConf):

To get here, System ▸ Preferences ▸ CompizConfig Settings Manager ▸ Preferences

Yes, compiz with emerald.
In compiz Backend was already as GConf.

To autostart an app, you place the .desktop entry into ~/.config/autostart,
it's the xdg spec. Not sure how does shutter does this though

@Vadim: The gnome keybindings are broken when using compiz, because there is a (new?) gnome compatibility setting in ccsm where some gnome keybindings are configured, see:

http://www.ubuntu-pics.de/bild/11752/compiz_jaunty_keys2_VxCQuL.png

In older versions of ccsm the keybindings were copied from current gconf settings but now they look hard-coded. I think we need to set them via dbus.
I've already started to work on this...

What do you think of a little 0.70.3 bugfix release for jaunty?

I don't think it's necessary as jaunty is still in beta

As a workaround someone might want to manually setup Shutter as the default screenshot tool.

Those who are not using compiz but some other window manager in a gnome environment can set it using the System->Settings->Hotkey.
(You need to add a new binding)
