Bug Description

Shutter 0.94 Rev.1290 ubuntu 18.04 LTS

I have used shutter without problem from 12.04 to 17.10.
Now the program opens normally but when I click on 'Selection' I get

There was an error determining the filename.
Error while opening directory '/home/simon/Pictures'.

Show more details - File not found

On canceling that error message I get

Failed
There was an error determining the filename.

I have tried Removing Shutter and then reinstalling it using 'Software' and via the command line.
Both methods install without problem

Yes '/home/simon/Pictures' is present on my system but this is a sub-directory of 'Home'.

I have tried moving the contents of 'home' i.e. 'simon' to 'Home' but I still get the same error messages.

Thank you for looking at this for me it is much appreciated.

I would propose to just change the save location to an existing directory (see the settings dialogue, right in the "General" category).

Thank you. That's fixed it.

I had to go to edit < preferences and then nominated an existing directory as you suggested.

Do I need to do anything to close this down?

Thanks again
