Bug Description

Ubuntu Gnome 16.04

Since I updated to 0.94, triggering a screenshot from a Gnome Shell custom shortcut crashes Shutter with this error:

fct_update_tray_menu was called by Gnome2::Wnck::Screen=HASH(0x4d46b20)
*** stack smashing detected ***: /usr/bin/perl terminated
[1] 16525 abort (core dumped) shutter

I have three shortcuts executing the following commands:

shutter -a -d 2
shutter -s -d 2
shutter -f -d 2

If I call those commands directly from the command line OR if Shutter isn't already running, it behaves properly.

The issues really only happen when the commands are called from a custom shortcut AND when shutter is already running.

I think, this is a duplicate of #1711874. Let's shift the discussion to the other report.

Looks like it is not a duplicate in the end, sorry for the confusion!
