Bug Description

Would be awesome if Shutter allow copy and paste of the created file for a screenshot from the clipboard to another directory.

I use Shutter to write programming tutorials on http://www.vogella.com.

Here is my current workflow:

1.) Make screenshot with Shutter
2.) Rename the file in Shutter via F2

So far so good, now to the bad part

3.) Find the file in my project explorer (Nautilus)
4.) Copy it from the explorer

If Shutter would allow to paste the file directly after making the screenshot, these steps could be removed.

5.) Paste the file to its destination, this destination depends on the tutorial I'm writing, hence I cannot update the default file location for Shutter.

This is possible with a corresponding setting, see attached screenshot.

This setting does not work for me. Try:

1.) Activate the setting.
2.) Make new screenshot
3.) Start Nautilus, move to a folder and use CTRL+V

-> Moving is pasted.

In SWT (the Java toolkit is primary using) this would typical be caused by a missing Transfer Type. Maybe this is the same here?

Sounds like this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/shutter/+bug/1592871 Could you check if copying to clipboard works if autosaving is on?

No, still doesn't work for me.

Does copy the file to Nautilus work for you?

You are right, now I tested myself and it indeed doesn't work.
