"shutter -e" doesn't exit after capture cancel

Bug Description
I made a script to take screenshot, upload it to image hosting and return a URL in clipboard.
I use commands:
shutter -o "$tmpfile" -C -e -n -s
shutter -o "$tmpfile" -C -e -n --section
In both cases, when user cancels capture hitting ESC, shutter process doesn't exit, and my script hangs waiting for it.
Though the application does not crash, it is unexpected and unwanted behaviour.
