Bug Description
I think it is mishandling the recent files folder trying to access them. When looking at the output of strace I saw a lot of that.
It was hanging on startup, after every screenshot, etc. I tried rm -r ~/.shutter/. After wiping my `recent` thing in gnome-shell everything was snappy again.
My recent entries contained a lot of files that are not accessible due to network location and mountpoints not mounted. Something should be done in shutter to prevent it from listing/looking at those.
