Bug Description
I recently installed Shutter on Linux Mint 17 (Qiana), running Cinnamon Desktop.
Laptop: Acer Aspire V5-122P-0408
AMD Dual-Core A4-1250
Video chip: AMD Radeon HD 8210
Video driver: xserver-
Shutter versions I have tried:
0.93 Rev.1272 (currently installed - installed by downloading package shutter_
0.90.1 (first one tried- installed from ppa:shutter/ppa)
Shutter will start successfully, but as soon as I try to make a selection, the Cinnamon DE freezes completely. I am unable to recover it by any means that I know, and am forced to open another TTY and reboot the box from the command line.
I've searched the web for information on this, but have so far been unsuccessful. I used Shutter a lot when I was running Ubuntu 12.04 and it's a great product.
Please let me know if there are any more details I can get you, or diagnostics I can provide, or steps for troubleshooting that I should try.
Thank you.

I think it is mishandling the recent files folder trying to access them. When looking at the output of strace I saw a lot of that.
After wiping my `recent` thing in gnome-shell everything was snappy again.
My recent entries contained a lot of files that are not accessible due to network location and mountpoints not mounted. Something should be done in shutter to prevent it from listing/looking at those.
