Bug Description

for example (enclosed in asterisks)

Software Installation

The following packages are needed: krb5-user, samba, sssd, and *ntp*. Samba needs to be installed, even if the system is not exporting shares. The Kerberos realm and FQDN or IP of the domain controllers are needed for this step.
Install these packages now.
sudo apt install krb5-user samba sssd *chrony*

Reference: network-auth.xml line 3980.

chrony is a "Versatile implementation of the Network Time Protocol", and so not clear if there is actually an issue here or not.

Perhaps this might be clearer:

"The following packages are needed: krb5-user, samba, sssd, and ntp (via chrony)."

I do not know if the ntp package itself is good enough or if chrony is actually required. Subject matter expert input needed.

summary: - SSSD and Active Directory - mixed references to NTPD and CHRONY
+ SSSD and Active Directory - mixed references to NTP and CHRONY

Not an expert (I followed the instructions with 19.04 but can't get it working!) but would suggest simply changing to

"The following packages are needed: krb5-user, samba, sssd and chrony"

The rest of the document makes references to chrony, so it looks like this one reference to the NTP [package] was missed.

Versions of the document for earlier distributions refer to ntp only. For later distributions, it was switched to chrony, but this one reference was missed.
