Bug Description

The server guide at https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/lamp-overview.html.en recommends running the following command on the ubuntu server:
sudo tasksel install lamp-server

However, the command returns:
sudo: tasksel: command not found

I recommend editing the guide to say:
sudo apt install tasksel
sudo tasksel install lamp-server

tasksel was installed by default on my test 18.04 server, and such is consistent with previous releases.

I re-installed my test 18.04.1 server VM from a newly downloaded ubuntu-18.04.1-server-amd64.iso. tasksel was installed by default.

@David: How did you install your server?

I downloaded the ISO of 18.04 directly from ubuntu.com (https://www.ubuntu.com/download/server/thank-you?country=US&version=18.04.1&architecture=amd64). I can download a fresh copy this evening and see if the results are different for me.

O.K. so:

ubuntu-18.04.1-server-amd64.iso

verses

ubuntu-18.04.1-live-server-amd64.iso

I'll try the live version shortly.

Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of the alternate installer. It solved so many issues I was having getting Ubuntu running again. Tasksel is installed by default as assumed by the server manual, Let's Encrypt works now rather than the issue outline here: https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/installation-failing-on-ububntu-servr-18-04-xx/68366

Are this bugs with the live installer that need to be reported?

Is this a won't fix? It could be a change needed to the guide or a change needed to the liver installer.

@David: I set it back to new. I don't know what to do. I don't understand why the installer was changed, or why the new one is incomplete or whatever. Myself, I think this is actually a bug against the live installer, but I don't know the package or project name.

This is the installer bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/subiquity/+bug/1783129

It's fixed in the daily image stream, but not the released image one.
