Bug Description
It looks as though the aptitude section was originally written for the command "aptitude" instead of what is now listed "sudo aptitude". The various instructions keep referring to needing to escalate to "root" privaledges, however they are not required.
This bug report is an extension and continuation of bug 1172233 , which became bigger and bigger the more it was looked into.
