when the last note in pattern ends exactly on the end of the pattern

When I extend a note so that the end-point coincides with or extends beyond the end of the pattern,
strange and confusing things happen visually. It becomes almost impossible to shorten the note again.
Moreover, I have observed that when you import midi files with a note that ends on the end of the
pattern, or if you copy/paste a note which has this property, that the note is dropped (it disappears).
