Bug Description

This is not a bug, but a technical inquiry.

Has anyone considered using a device like the Pantone Huey MEU101 to maintain a consistent monitor color balance between scribe and QA monitors? The device is about $90 US and one would only be needed per center. Seems to me a device like this would help with maintaining proper saturation and matching color. Any thoughts?

Hi Jay,

Great suggestion. We have thought about doing this in the past but have never found a linux compatible solution. The Pantone Huey MEU101, for example, works only with Windows or OSX systems.

Adding a monitor calibration tool to to our center's would certainly add some confidence in our camera/qa/processes...

Would you mind looking into Ubuntu/Linux compatible options? When I checked a few months ago, I didn't come up with anything.

Thanks,

Paul

I'm a mediocre Linux user, so when a Linux forum member claims he or she can use the Huey through complex commands, I can't verify this. Pantone doesn't claim Linux compatibility, so I'll assume it doesn't work with Linux unless I'm a Linux guru. If Huey is compatible with Linux as some users claim, this is better dealt with by our engineers I expect. I'll keep an eye out for one that works.
