Bug Description

When inserting a page in republisher into a book marked with alternating page numbering, the pages after do not reassign the numbers. Ex: 126 (insert 127, 128) 127, 128, 129. It can be fixed by changing the page after the insert to the new page number and reclicking alternating pages.

Love the feature btw.

Also found that if a book is misbound and skips a page, and you need to update the numbering to reflect this, change the page number, hit next, hit back, click on the page, change to regular numbering, next, back, then back to alt. numbering. There may be a shorter way to do this, but so far I've found this works. It seems that since the alt pages are quasi asserted, any change needs the pages set to regular numbering, then back to alt numbering to reset the numbering after the change.

ok. easier method for inserting pages in alt mode:
Set previous page to regular numbering
Insert page where needed
Set previous page back to alt numbering

works like a charm.

Updated the Twiki w/ info on how to use alt. pagination: http://home.us.archive.org/cgi-bin/twiki/viewauth/BooksGroup/AlternativePagination

New topic of interest concerning alt pagi:
http://www.archive.org/stream/funeralpompaysol00rome#page/n97/mode/2up

The pages are noticeably marked in the book view's web book. And thou you can type in the page (ie 42 displayed in the link above), the display box with page number still shows only unmarked pages. I'm assuming this is based on the left hand page? Probably is terribly complicated, but is there a change that box can display the asserted alt. pagination? The funky things with inserting pages has an easy work around and I don't think it really needs fixed any time soon, but this is one last thing that affects the user and could show off all the hard work that went into this. Without the page numbering showing, most people wouldn't know they are numbered at all! I really want to show the library here that we have this new option of numbering their books, since the vast majority lately is alternately paginated.

This topic (display of page numbering in BookReader for alt-paged books) came up a couple of weeks ago. Here's what I wrote then:

If you switch to single-page mode, you can see that BookReader actually does fine with those pages that do have numbers assigned in the scandata:

http://www.archive.org/stream/frommarshruntose00beal#page/7/mode/1up

As Stacey [and now Xephyr] reported, in two-page mode it always displays the page info for the left side, which will, in this case, be the "n"-style raw image number, but one-page mode shows that it uses the page numbers from the scandata for those pages that have them (the right pages).

Leaving it live on scribe2 because we still need to fix the insertion problem...
