Bug Description

I had several screenlets installed from previous versions. I just updated to 0.1.6. Now all of my screenlets appear in front of other windows. The settings in the screenlets themselves seem to be ignored.

Please specify your release and desktop. Does the bug still occur if you restart the session or computer? I have a reason to believe it is a Unity bug (see bug #859405 for example).

Oops. I knew I was forgetting something! I'm running 11.10, and I AM running Unity, so that wouldn't surprise me. In April, I'll be leaving for Mint KDE, so I don't think it'll be an issue there. The applets on KDE do not provide the same functionality, so I'm hoping Screenlets will work there, and they will no doubt behave under KDE than under Unity (I hope!).

It would be still interesting to know whether the bug disappears after restarting the session or computer.

Screenlets will run fine on KDE, as I remember from trying couple of months ago, but since KDE has Plasmoids built in, it's not a wise use of resources to run Screenlets on top of all that.

Oh, sorry. Yes, I rebooted as soon as I saw something wrong. The problem persisted. I have now reverted to the previous version and locked the version to avoid updates. In April, I'll be migrating away from Unity anyway. I liked the plasmoids I saw on the test CD, and I looked at some of the downloadable ones, but one or two of the old screenlet ones I'd still like to use. Thanks for all the help.
