Hide extensions panel when not in use

Bug Description
It would be very useful if there was a way of hiding/closing the panels. Like the side panels in evince which can be opened with a key or menu and can be closed with an X. Right now tree source viewer is in the way when I'm only editing one file for a long time, and I can't hide it easily.
