No autosave after pasting text into empty file

Bug Description

Create a new file, open it with Scratch, paste in some text and close it. Open the file again and the file is empty.....that is not how it should go I guess..

Preferences > Behavior > General > Save files when changed > checked.

I can reproduce this:

  touch file
  scratch-text-editor file

  <paste in some text in new window, then close>

  scratch-text-editor file

file is empty again

Only seems to occur in an empty file.
