Inconsistent date format

Bug #372889 reported by Tom Hoffman on 2009-05-06

Bug Description

I'm wondering why the date is formatted as mm dd, yy - mm dd, yy when listing school years. I was expecting it in mmm dd yyyy, or as set in my site preference: yyyy/mm/dd.

If I wasn't able to make myself clear, please look at the screenshot here:

I have also found inconsistent dates when entering a new event on the calendar.

If you add a new event, then click on "recurring" you will have the option of adding "exception dates". The format expected is "yyyy-mm-dd" but the drop down calendar puts into the box the format "dd/mm/yyyy".

I like the idea of a drop down calendar which helps input dates but it isn't helpful if the format input is not what is expected by the system.

Thanks caveman, that sounds like a relatively straightforward manifestation of the general bug, so hopefully it will be an easy cleanup.

I fixed the issue David described in comment #2. The original issue was for the 1.X version.
