timetable exceptions cannot add periods to days, only cancel

In the timetable you can add days which are exceptions to the normal schedule, you can cancel or change times of periods, you can not however easily change from a Thursday's schedule to a Friday's schedule offering the classes on Thursday that are normally on Friday. We frequently have to do this and this prevents us from taking attendance on those days since the column is only available on days which the section meets. Please suggest a work around until a fix is ready.

True, it is not possible to exchange or move days. We know that happens with holidays.

Don't know a workaround, other than write code to implement this feature.
