Explicity Record Presence as well as Absence

Need a way to monitor in the nearly opposite way.

In some areas, funding requires not simply that absence be recorded but that presence explicitly is recorded as well.

This would need a days attended column.
A column that records the ratio of days attended to all days.
A column that records days absent to all days.
A column that records ratio of absence to attendendance rather than excused to unexcused attendance.

In programs of this nature a homeroom teacher must explicitly mark a student as being in class on a given date. Null entry must NOT be treated as attendance.

Is there a way we can add a code to expressly mark a student present?

Not having this functionality is a show shopper for our program for adoption.

You can create a custom score system that includes "present." See http://book.schooltool.org/journal.html#setting-up-attendance-codes-and-journal-score-system

Beyond that, it is mostly a matter of needing some custom reports.
