exceeding FD_SETSIZE results in opaque errors

Bug Description
If more than FD_SETSIZE fds are used by SERVE-EVENT at the same time, the error reported is along the lines of:
The value 1025 is not of type (MOD 1025)
which is a bit hard for users to decipher. Explicitly telling that FD_SETSIZE has been exceeded would be much better.
