Bug Description

  According to <http://alfa.s145.xrea.com/sbcl/solaris-x86.html>, the
stack exhaustion checking (implemented with a write-protected guard
page) does not work on SunOS/x86.

So this bug is almost 4 years old, but I thought I'd give it a try and see if it needs fixing. The good news is that I cannot reproduce the bug with current SBCL.

The bad news is that a binary from before this bug was opened (1.0.22) does not show this symptom either, which makes it less likely there is actually a change in SBCL's behaviour.

However, I am running SunOS 5.11, whereas the original reporter is referring to 5.10. And I wouldn't be surprised to find that there are further signal handling or mmap improvements on Sol. 11/x86.

Can anyone (Nikodemus?) confirm whether it still happens on Sol. 10 for you?
