Build process doesn't seem to respect --without-sb-unicode

Bug Description
I'm trying to build the current sbcl without unicode, like so:
$ sh make.sh --prefix=
but in the resulting system, :SB-UNICODE is still contained in *FEATURES*:
$ /opt/sbcl-
This is SBCL 1.1.12.40-441dfe5, an implementation of ANSI Common Lisp.
