Bug Description

In doing an attempted build of SBCL with CLISP, I found an old bug reference in src/cold/ansify.lisp for floating point underflow. Testing against CLISP 2.49 shows that that bug is not an issue anymore. Not that it makes the thing compile...

SBCL 1.1.8
Linux bump 3.9.9-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jul 3 22:52:05 CEST 2013 i686 GNU/Linux

HEAD contains a fix to build on CLISP (e877a20, restore CLISP cross-compilability).

The underflow setting seems to only be necessary on some platforms (in the IRC transcript, OS X, but not Linux). If someone on OS X can confirm that CLISP silently does not signal on underflows anymore, we might consider removing the workaround.
