login - hangs on progress bar

<Greg> my co-worker has it installed, and was able to access it fine. I had him try mine and he wasn't able to login onmy laptop. So I completely removed it and reinstalled it, but same results, so when I got home fromwork I installed it fresh on my home PC ,and still un able to login

can you please post debug info? From SamePlace menu it's Help -> Report a Bug.

Did this happen immediately after upgrading SamePlace, Firefox, or both?

Sorry, I see you posted debug info already. It would be helpful to see the xmpp log too, Help -> Save XMPP log.

I did save the XMPP log , however when I opened it (w/ notepad) it was blank.

This morning ..removed the XMpp4moz and sameplace extensions, and then
I updated to Firefox 3. Reinstalled both Sameplace and XMPP4Moz, then
tried again to login.... Instead of a solid blue status bar, it was
actually the moving slider, but again it just sits there, looking like
it's trying to connect.... but nothing. It also, locks up Firefox
completely, I have to hit cancel, in order to use Firefox. I have tried on my work laptop and my home pc..same results. Is there anyway you can confirm my Sameplace account? I now have two, as I thought I'd try anther account. <email address hidden> AND <email address hidden>

since you mention a "Cancel" button, I assume you mean you're running the wizard and trying to configure an account. If that is the case, please upgrade to xmpp4moz 0.6.4 which was released yesterday and includes changes which affect the connection stage.

You are correct, I am trying to run the account wizard. I updated XMPP4MOZ (0.6.4) this morning, but same result. I've attached a print screen of the endless process.

Sorry Greg, neither me nor X-Pilot are able to reproduce this. Perhaps try with a different profile just to check if it's a machine-wide problem.

I have same problem, when I try to add new jabber account in latest firefox extension. I configure it to use my existing jabber account on my jabber server (connection with SSL on 5223 port). But login operation hungs up!
I supposed that SamePlace have problem with self-signed SSL security sertificate of my jabber server. Firefox browser and other jabber clients have same problems (error: sec_error_untrusted_issuer), but they grant a right to add exception for such sertificates and accept they.
I found workaround - open my jabber server url in firefox (like this https://myjabber.srv:5223) and grant permanent exception for its self-sighed sertificate. After that procedure new jabber account has been added in SamePlace firefox extension without any problems.
I think this is not a bug actually, but It Would Be Nice If firefox extension will handle this problem more reasonably.
