Hang at login screen (ATI xpress 200 igp)

I just downloaded Live CD version of breeze RC1, and I am unable to use it.

Right from start after it play the initial sound of Gnome, the system completely
locks up. I tried passing noinotify no grub, didn't help either.

Hardware is a HP laptop model ze2113us, with 1280 megs of RAM. All ATI inside
(ide is ATIXP, video is xpress 200 igp)

On Hoary using 2.6.12 from backports it works just fine if I pass noinotify.

My guess is the atior radeon driver from xorg.

There is no such version of Ubuntu. Can you tell us exactly which CD you downloaded?

sorry for the late response. I was away travelling.

Well, I downloaded it from the follow URL via bittorrent:

http://releases.ubuntu.com/5.10/ubuntu-5.10-preview-live-i386.iso.torrent

Downloaded the install version as well, but as the Live version keeps freezing
on me,
I decided to stick with Hoary.

Another thing that is still present on Breeze, (I don't think it is related but
maybe it is) is

the bug http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=13307
