Bug Description
I am using a documentclass where I'm not allowed to use bibtex; I have to copy/paste the .bbl to inside the thebibliography environment myself. I've built some scripts to do this patching. However, when I call rubber it will see the \bibliographystyle command in my .tex file, and activate the BibTex module. I believe that \bibliographystyle is unrelated to BibTeX.

What is the point of using \bibliographystyle if you don't use BibTeX? It sets the style for BibTeX to use. if you write your bibitems by hand (or some other process), you can just leave it out, it doesn't do anything, right?
