Bug Description
There are a few dependencies missing from the Anjuta apt-get thingy. I'm not sure that I found all of 'em, or if I installed packages that just had mutual dependencies with Anjuta, but a clean install of Ubuntu 5.10 with fully updated packages worked with the following additional packages installed:
gettext
g++
gcc
automake1.9
I mean, I think anybody installing Ubuntu will prolly have gcc installed, but it still should be listed. Automake especially.

Have you installed the build-essential meta package? Gcc, G++ and make are pulled in by default. automake is recomended, but i dont see gettext in the package.
perhaps anjuta should be changed to depend on build-essential?
Anjuta does recomend Gcc or G++, make (but they are not required dependancies)
