Bug Description
French translators found a translation bug in the main menu of GNOME (present in edgy, feisty and gusty), the wrong package seemed to be gnome-desktop but it was right in upstream and Rosetta. After some investigation, I found not one but two PO files for the same French translation:
$ dpkg -S gnome-desktop-
language-
language-
fr_FR is unuseful, I deleted fr_FR one and translation is correct now!
Maybe some other packages have the same problem because my fr_FR directory contains (on Feisty):
apt.mo
debconf.mo
eject.mo
gnome-applets-
gnome-desktop-
gnome-menus.mo
gtk20.mo
launchpad-
ubiquity.mo
xfce-mcs-plugins.mo

I confirm this, in the source package language- pack-gnome- fr-base (7.04+20070412) there is 4 .po files in the /data/fr_ FR/LC_MESSAGES folder which have very old revision dates (all in 2006) :
"POT-Creation-Date: 2007-03-14 12:17+0000\n"
"PO-Revision-Date: 2006-06-02 08:44+0000\n"
The right files, up to date, are in /data/fr/ LC_MESSAGES.
