Bug Description
The original powerd had a "powerd-cli active" request which ensured the device wouldn't slowdown or go to sleep while that request was up.
I believe it's a common use case during development: You have a device on with multiple ssh connections to it. Currently, unless you keep the display on the connections will become slow or stop responding overtime. Keeping the display on just to ensure the device stays responsive, besides the extra battery drain, won't do any good for the display itself (it will burn in).
