Having looked at those files, I think you're experiencing one bug with different symptoms depending on which option you choose. Would you mind attaching a screenshot with the waterfall of letters? I need to see which letters are printed, so that I can track down exactly what's causing the bug.

Looking forward, I'll probably ask you to try the latest development version at some point. The assistant has been split into several files now, so I can put together a tar.gz file if you'd rather not install bazaar to download the program. Let me know if you'd like that, so I can work out how best to upload such a file ahead of time.

I thought the letter bug is from the other report or?
But here it comes - I can reproduce it :

Share across this computer - "use reverse connection"

PS: Just tell me how to install bazar or what you would like me to do (via Synaptics?)
+ Where are you from? - translation status told me that only German is completly translated. If you'Re from Germany - are we allowed to write in German on launchpad?

Looking at this screenshot, I think both reports are for the same bug - I'd convinced myself that the version available on the main page included the fix for bug #260872, so I assumed that this couldn't be the same issue. Sorry for the confusion. The easiest way to download the latest version is to install the 'bazaar' package with synaptic, then do:

bzr branch lp:remote-help-assistant

on a command-line. That will download everything into the "remote-help-assistant" directory. Try running the "remote-help-assistant" program inside that directory, and let me know how it goes.

As to location - sorry, British. I only show up on the translation pages because I've recently reinstated some of Sebastian's translations that I accidentally deleted. Thanks for the review by the way :)

now it works,
even if ir sounds a bit strange when you ahve both times the option of a reverse connection.
Please close my bugs.

I'll test remote connnection in near future.

PS: What should I do to acces a windows PC through this script, and what can I do against the "launchpad login" error of bazaar

That's good to hear, and you're right about getting the "reverse connection" message twice - I've put that on my todo list.

I'm afraid Windows' Remote Assistance program isn't supported by the assistant, and you'd have to install more programs than it's worth to get the assistant working without it. You might want to look at the rdesktop package, which is designed to work with RA. If you wanted to work on improving RA support in Linux, I'd be happy to give you some pointers.

I only know some places to start looking, not how to interpret what you'll find when you get there. See you in a few years maybe :)

Oh, and you'd be surprised how little of my development time has anything to do with programming!

maybe it's like writing websites with the litle difference that you have to compile your work before testing or?
And of course more complex.

Yes I hope to get involved in a few years.

If you'd like to compare it to websites, think about the amount of time you spend on HTML/Javascript issues, vs. the amount of time you spend working out how to phrase what you write, where to find images, what hosting provider to use, whether Internet Explorer has managed to mess things up again, and so on. Python isn't that much harder than Javascript as a language, but it's everything else you need to worry about.
