Bug Description
The network preferences window actually changes the GNOME proxy settings, rather than setting its own values. I know that it says that on the window but wouldn't then make more sense to simply replace the window to a button that open the GNOME "network proxy preferences" and reduce the referencer developers work?
I guess ideally though would be to have in the future something similar to pidgin, where there's a dropdown menu with the choices:
- Use GNOME proxy settings
- No proxy
- HTTP
- SOCKS4
- SOCKS5
- Use environmental settings
