Some PDFs don't have DOI information built in, so I have to enter them manually. To enter the DOI I go to the properties window of that document and paste in the number. However, clicking on the "look up" button to retrieve the data associated with that DOI does not work until I press "save" and then reopen the properties window and press "look up" again. This happens because the values in the fields are not written to the database until I press "save". In effect, the user has to go to the properties window twice in order to look up information from a manually entered DOI.

I propose that this redundancy be eliminated by adding a "close" button to the properties window such that the manually entered information can be written to the database by hitting "save" and the user can proceed to looking up the DOI information without having to close and reopen the properties window.
