referencer crashes when it starts

this is what I got when I try to start it,
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error'
  what(): locale::facet::_S_create_c_locale name not valid
Aborted

I am using ubuntu 9.04 and the language environment is en_US. Actually, referencer works fine before this problem that happens suddenly.

In addition, my inkscape works well now (I noticed the suggestions about testing inkscape).

I solve the problem by setting LANG="C"
