doesn't read the file generated by the previous version (ubuntu 13.04 to trusty tahr)

I have used referencer for some years. Since the upgrade of my operating system from Ubuntu 13.04 to the last LTS version , Trusty Tahr, I am unable to open the file which contains all my bibliography. Its pretty frustrating.

Hey, can you send me a file with the problem? What happens specifically?
Note that the Ubuntu version might still have a bug with dialogs, if they
haven't synced with Debian.

Thank you for the reply. When I want to read my old file, I have an
error message : unable to parse the reflib file

It seems there was an invalid XML character in the file: an &#x2; in the line
    <bib_title>ARFI, FibroScan &#x2; , ELF, and their combinations in the assessment of liver fibrosis: A prospective study</bib_title>

I have attached a version of the file with this character removed, that loads fine for me.
Please note that Ubuntu 14.04 has a buggy version (1.2.1, see bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/referencer/+bug/1267786 ). I'm currently trying to get Ubuntu to update to the fixed 1.2.2.
