Bug Description

I am using XFCE DE, and I have to specify coordinates manually every time I run redshift (since I don't have gnome-clock applet). Because of this, I am having problems with autostarting. When I check 'Autostart' option in the popup window, redshift adds itself to autostart list, but it runs without arguments, and fails to start. I had to make another entry in the autostart list, with coord settings added, in order for it to run.

This could be resolved in an elegant manner by creating a default configuration file (you can override it with -c FILE) on a first successful run, for example .redshift.conf in /home/username. Redshift can then check for this file on each run, then check if another file was specified as an argument that should override the default one, and load settings accordingly, or, if no default file exists, create it using valid settings.

This will make running redshift on startup easier for us non-GNOME users.

Kind regards,

Where is the documentation as to what the configuration file even looks like?

This: http://jonls.dk/2010/10/redshift-1-6-released/ (and the source code itself) is still the only documentation.

There's documentation of the config file in the man page now.
