This is currently not possible, sorry. There are plans to add this
functionality though.

As noted in https://answers.launchpad.net/rednotebook/+question/260985 it would be nice to be able to import backups as well.

+1 This would be good, at least to support RNB's own backup type.

Has this import notes ability been added yet, and I just can't find how?

Anyway I use a method that works quite well, but could be easier. I should somehow just be able to browse my files and import one just like I do with templates.

Here's the text from my file I add to (path-to).rednotebook/templates directory.

(filename) How-to-Import-File-Notes

### reminder on how to import text file
1. Choose a file or create a file you want to import to a rednotebook date
2. Copy or move the file into the templates directory
   (path-to)/.rednotebook/templates/
3. Go to the rednotebook and the specific date
4. In edit mode, place cursor where you want the file notes to go
5. Click templates to dropdown, select add template, select the file

As an example this note is saved in a file named "How-to-Import-File-Notes" and copied into my rednotebook templates directory.

Thanks @DuaneBrowns,
It is 2019, and still there's no import functionality available -not in v. 2.11-
It'd made life waay easier to keep things flowing.
