Under Windows hard to see what date is selected

Recently tried this excellent software but found it difficult to see which date was selected on the calendar on the left. I did notice that dates with entries were made bold. I ended up adding notes to the wrong day because of this. I would like to suggest that the main title bar above the area in which you type displays the date

I did the attached screen-shot on another Win 7 PC and the current day is a little more visible, but as you will see, the background to the selected day is a very light grey colour and not easy to see. In fact if you keep clicking on other days, sometimes you get a nice blue background to the date and the day names appear on a blue background also. The blue background is nice and clear but I can see no reason why sometimes the background is blue and other times it is light grey.

Ok, I see what you mean. Putting the date into the header behind
RedNotebook would probably not really improve the situation with all the
blur there ;)

Could the date being edited/Previewed be shown on the right hand side of the toolbar (justified to the right of the Edit/Template/Insert/Format area) - there is plenty of space?

I just merged a patch from Rob Norris. The date is now displayed in the title bar.
