get error "Permission denied, please try again" when trying to SSH into new Raspberry Pi Zero 2

Bug Description

I used Raspberry i Imager v1.7.5 to set up a microSD for a Raspberry Pi Zero 2.

When I try to connect, the username and password is rejected.

I set the username/password to adam/password

I have tried a number of different methods, but I think something is bugged with the Raspberry Pi Imager so it is not correctly creating the SSH credentials.
