Bug Description
Hello,
I did a fresh install of Buster yesterday (no desktop flavour) on my Raspberry PI 2. Increased memory split to 160MB for GPU. Installed Kodi (with no previous ~/.kodi). kodi-standalone won't start with the message "Unable to create GUI".
The logs in .kodi/temp/kodi.log show the following 2 lines at the end:
https:/
22:12:04.835 T:1830201904 ERROR: X11 Error: No Display found
22:12:04.835 T:1830201904 FATAL: CApplication:
Full log attached.
After some search on Google, I'm apparently not the only one affected (see https:/
Tried to install xorg-server and xinit. X works well went started with "startx" command, but it does not help kodi to start.
Help is welcome, problem is reproducible so tell me if you want me to run some debug commands ;)

There are many users experiencing this bug. The reason is that Raspbian needs a specialized hardware-related build of Kodi compared to the build that comes from Debian. In Stretch, that build was available, but for Buster not yet.
Apart from all the forum posts on this, I think this might be the upstream(est) bug report. Could someone copy in the maintainers for the Raspbian build of Kodi so they can give some update on when to expect a fix?
