Bug Description

I have an Rpi2B with latest apt-get update/upgrade. A python script which shells this command:
subprocess.call('sudo iwlist wlan0 scan > /var/temp/wscan.txt', shell=True)
every 10 seconds starts to fail after about an hour (repeatably) generating baffling system error messages, then finally the os crashes.
Let me know if you need more info.

The last comment has what may be a useful workaround.

IF you can propose a debdiff for a tested change to the package (shouldn't be too hard based on what is said in that github issue, but I don't use wireless on the Pi personally so I can't easilly test) then I will consider uploading it
