1. apt-get install kodi
2. install https://github.com/bromix/plugin.video.youtube addon
3. try to play any video, errors appear in /home/kodi/.kodi/temp/kodi.log

Supply a simple testcase that doesn't involve kodi or other stuff from outside the raspbian repositories and i'll try and take a look.

I solved the problem with an update from Kodi 14 to Kodi 15.1 but I don't know what the problem solved.

I had been affected by this bug as well, which is why I updated to Kodi 15.1 from the official Raspbian repositories today. But since I could not get PVR plugins to work there, I downgraded back to Michael Gorven's 14.2 version. However, in some way that seems to have fixed the bug described above - the issue is gone for me after that! Maybe this workaround is helpful for other people with this problem, too?

KODI on Raspbian is still at old version 15.2. Version 16 needs to be offered and this bug verified again.
