Bug Description

I've connected Raspbian via HDMI to a 1920x1080 27" Asus VG278H display. However Raspbian is not able to configure the display resolution properly and Menu->Preferences->Display Settings is not giving me any configuration options to fix it.

See this screenshot for an illustration: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/40949268/Bugs/raspbian_no_hdmi_settings.JPG

The resolution is a very odd 1136x592, and the configuration does not list any other options. The display is a native 1920x1080 panel, and it is showing the smaller resolution centered to the screen. I am running on a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B, which should be able to output in 1920x1080 resolution? Choosing 'Auto' does not change anything, but retains the 1136x592 resolution. The display does work (autodetected) in 1080p mode in Windows, Ubuntu Linux 12 & 14 and OS X.

If the auto-detected output resolution in Raspbian is incorrect, you need to fix it by editing config.txt
